Have You Delayed Buying a Home During Coronavirus?

Don’t give up on your home buying dreams!

In the world’s current state, it’s likely that you have had to hold off on buying a home, or decorating your home beyond the basic essentials. You are not alone. According to Yahoo!Finance, 22 million Americans delayed buying a home during the coronavirus. And young people were almost 3 times as likely to delay a home purchase!

So what do you do while playing the waiting game?

  • REVISE YOUR GOAL! Take the time to recalculate your budget and review what’s important to you in a new home. Sometimes we have to make compromises, but don’t give up on your dream! It may take you longer to get there, but when you do, it will be worth the wait.
  • FIND INSPIRATION! Find local decorators in your area and follow them for inspiration. Take the time to get to know your designer on a personal level. Are they someone you get along and feel comfortable with? Do they listen to your ideas and concerns? Are they conscious of your budget? The key is to find a decorator you can trust. • FIND COMMUNITY! With fewer in-person social gatherings, many people have turned to the internet for building community. I’ve been grateful to find an online community for support during these trying times. Talking through your experiences with others going through similar ones can help you process your feelings, and give you a new perspective of your journey.
